Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Hop Assistant Chrome extension ("Extension"), operated by Peru Hop ("we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Extension.

1. Information We Collect

The Extension collects and processes the following information:

HubSpot Thread Context: When you view a HubSpot Conversations Inbox thread, the Extension reads the thread ID from the page URL and forwards it to the embedded Peru Hop assistant. The assistant uses the thread ID to fetch the associated contact, ticket, and reservation data from the HubSpot API server-side. The Extension itself does not read contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, or message content from the HubSpot page.
Authentication Data: The embedded Peru Hop assistant requires you to log in with your company credentials. Your authentication session is managed securely via Supabase and lives in the assistant web app, not in the Extension itself.
Chat Messages: Messages you send through the Extension are transmitted to our backend servers for AI processing and are stored in our database to maintain conversation history.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect browsing history, keystrokes, or any data from websites other than HubSpot.
We do not collect personal data from users outside of the HubSpot CRM context.
We do not sell, rent, or share any collected data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. How We Use Information

The information collected is used solely to:

Provide AI-powered customer support assistance within HubSpot.
Display relevant contact context to help agents respond to customer inquiries.
Maintain chat history for continuity and quality assurance.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit. Access to stored data is restricted to authenticated and authorized users only through Row Level Security policies.

5. Data Sharing

Chat messages and the associated structured customer context are sent to our backend server for AI processing. Depending on the AI assistant selected, our backend routes the request to either Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI; embedding and re-ranking calls also go to Voyage AI. Each provider's data usage policy applies to the data they process on our behalf. We do not share your data with any third parties outside of this AI processing.

6. Permissions

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

activeTab: Used to detect when you are on a HubSpot Conversations Inbox page and extract the conversation thread ID from the page URL.
Host permissions (*.hubspot.com): Required to inject the assistant widget into the HubSpot UI and paste agent-approved AI-drafted replies into the HubSpot reply composer.

7. Data Retention

Chat history and associated data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request access to the data we hold about you.
Request deletion of your data.
Withdraw consent by uninstalling the Extension at any time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
