This Privacy Policy describes how the Hop Assistant Chrome extension ("Extension"), operated by Peru Hop ("we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Extension.

1. Information We Collect

The Extension collects and processes the following information:

HubSpot Contact Context: When you are viewing a contact or ticket page on HubSpot, the Extension reads contextual information (such as contact name, email, phone number, and ticket ID) displayed on the current page to provide relevant AI-assisted responses.
Authentication Data: The Extension requires you to log in with your company credentials. Your authentication session is managed securely via Supabase.
Chat Messages: Messages you send through the Extension are transmitted to our backend servers for AI processing and are stored in our database to maintain conversation history.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect browsing history, keystrokes, or any data from websites other than HubSpot.
We do not collect personal data from users outside of the HubSpot CRM context.
We do not sell, rent, or share any collected data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. How We Use Information

The information collected is used solely to:

Provide AI-powered customer support assistance within HubSpot.
Display relevant contact context to help agents respond to customer inquiries.
Maintain chat history for continuity and quality assurance.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit. Access to stored data is restricted to authenticated and authorized users only through Row Level Security policies.

5. Data Sharing

Chat messages are sent to OpenAI's API for AI processing. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to this processing. We do not share your data with any other third parties.

6. Permissions

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

activeTab: To detect when you are on a HubSpot page and extract contact context from the current tab.
storage: To save your preferences and authentication state locally in your browser.
Host permissions (*.hubspot.com): To inject the assistant widget only on HubSpot pages.

7. Data Retention

Chat history and associated data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request access to the data we hold about you.
Request deletion of your data.
Withdraw consent by uninstalling the Extension at any time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
